Applied Animation:Group OWL!

Applied animation this time is about documentary. I like watching documentary especially discovery channel about the nature but never pay close attention on the animated part which means animations can blend in very well and be purely informative.

The reason why incorporating animation in documentary might be due to:

-to mediate difficult subject matter and materials (chemmicals)
-visualisation of abstract thoughts and concepts(religion, god)

-add anonymity to people involved/interviewed

-to add another level of complexity (comedy, tragedy)

We also look at a lot of examples of documentary and some are very creatively created, some are serious, giving a lot of styles and approaches toward the subject. Excellent examples like:

Animal comfort

I especially like Never like the first time!

It is not only telling the stories but using different style to represent the victim's point of view. 

At the end of the lesson, we are put into group. Oscar, me and Lauren form a group and we called it O.W.L! I think we will work well together because oscar is creative and Lauren is a very good animator while I am good at coming up with ideas so cant wait to start the preproduction! We have already set a timetable to get every thing scheduled and organised, work are less concentrated so we can work pretty less pressure for the first few weeks and focus on essay and responsive brief first!
