Comparing Asia and European Animation

My Neighbour Totoro 1988 Studio Ghibli  

This is a Japanese animation directed by Miyazaki Hayao with Studio Ghibli. My Neighbour Totoro started the raise of awareness of Asia animation through out the world. The reason why it was getting famous was due to the heart touching story, unique character designs and the beautifully drawn background. What it is different to European animation is that the story is told more gently and slowly which creates a calm atmosphere to match the characters. The plots were fresh and interesting. Unlike European animation, the description of character are in greater details for example the characters' features and mental state develop delicately along with the story whereas Mickey mouse cartoon mainly focus on the fun. My Neighbour Totoro teaches the audience a lesson and there are sad, worry and excitement which are directly presented onto the screen. The raise of Asia animation has changed the animation industry world-wide so much and there are trace of anime in a lot of Europe cartoons in nowadays.
