Katsudo Shashin 1907 is a old Japanese animation found in 2005. This is a short and simple clip showing a boy writing 'Katsudo Shashin' (which means Club photos) on the board.
Despite the simplicity of this animation, the movements of the boy is smooth and natural. The whole focus are on the last bowing motion which is rather odd in this clip because I could not find any relationship between writing words on white board with bowing. Maybe it was just a way Japanese artists to show that they managed to animate some difficult actions at that time. It is interesting to see how the Japanese animations have evolved from the Katsudo Shashin to mainly dominated by anime. I always think the animation in Asia always have clear human characters to tell the story and not many abstract content and this might due to the cultural and life style difference in the world.
