The Classic Element Process

For the character designs, I could not decide on the colour of the balloon seller. Since all the characters have no dialogue therefore I want him to be less stood out than the boy by the choice of colour. However, the colour should not be dull as it would have ruined the soft background and lively atmosphere.

This is the first colour template I tried on him. It looks quite nice but I afraid the shirt might blend in with the sky therefore I used Hue to experiment different colours.

This pink might now be suitable for his age and it might be too bright.

I think warm colours do not fit him well because he is a quiet person and cold colour will match his personality.

These are the last colours I experiment on him and eventually I chose to use the bright blue shirt with brown trousers because this is fasionable and quite honestly show his personality. I left the left hand blank so that I could draw on different motion afterward. I think this method is time saving and can keep the consistency of the animation but I need to consider the quality.
