Chicken Run

The concept of our story is very similar to Chicken Run from Aardman. I have been imagining the same kind of story background and approaches to a successful story like Chicken run and there are so many things I can learn from this film.

I think casting shadows is one of the main element to form a prison-ly and intense atmosphere and audience would notice straight away. In order to have a functional bakcground, it is better to be formed by simple shapes like rectangles and circles which would be easy to model and to be held by the characters if they need to use props.

Like Ginger, me and Joe want out pig main character smart and pretty active during the animation. By studying chicken run, there are several tools and weapons the pigs can hold that will be very funny for instance forks and knifes, something we use daily that are sharp and can be harmful. They can be peeler, scissors and even pencil etc.

The pigs can show plans, discuss and have silly notes all around the barn.

One thing we are struggling is a scene that can link all the events together and form a loop. In the film, Ginger always get caught and told off by the farmer while sending she back to her barn which develop the background of the story beautifully. I think this work because it is visually interesting when showing the same consequences by different camera angles but I worried that our time and technical limitation would not be able to use this kind of technique. There will be too much work for us and extremely time consuming if we are hoping for perfection.
