Pig RESEARCH!

Our animation is going to be related to pigs in the farm and I am not familiar with pigs and there are only a few times I meet a real pig. It is very important to identify which kinds of pigs I want to use and also what age. During the research, I found out that there are a lot of different types of pigs in various body shapes and colours, also the age of the pigs can be identified by studying at their eyes, ears and the wrinkles on their skins. As the pigs get old, their mass increase relatively and they become less cute. The clipart always make their body very round and almost ball like. Although their snouts are not round, they are often drawn as round in order to increase the cuteness.

Very inspiring illustration found online when searching smart pig! May steal this idea!

I would like to keep the organic colour of the pig instead of the bright pink. Joe and me both agree to make the characters toward reality and I am feeling more comfortable with the natural pink.

After searching for the pig barn, I notice how similar they look like the real prison. It is not difficult to relate the pigs' life to prisoners' and the bars and the captive space reduce their mobility which is very sad to look at. This is very useful when deciding the background for the story and the barn can be put in more spot lights and make it more prison-looking.

Poor pigs!
