Stella So is a Hong Kong animator and illustrator. Her works is very local and cultural, showing a lot of traditional transports and buildings. I love her work from the choose of paper to work on. She uses a type of paper what we used to practice writing when we were small and the colours of the paper already is a filter to the illustration. Colouring only the most important 'characters' of the work allows them to stand out from the crowded background also highlight the hero of the picture.
I want to learn from she style and the way she sees Hong Kong. I think the detailed drawing and simple colouring could bring that simplicity of the morning of Water head village and the quite environment before the crime. Although the buildings in the village is not as fancy as the tall buildings in central Hong Kong So draws, I could paint the windows and embrace this style through the whole animation.
